A waterfall on the Bendimahi
The falls sit on the Bendimahi River, fed from the Tendürek area. The Cultural Portal describes a recreation area and a suspension bridge across from the waterfall. Looking from the opposite side is a useful way to take in the whole scene.
The interest is not only the drop: it is also the spread of water over rock and its relationship with the surrounding landscape. Put the camera down for a moment and simply watch the flow.
One lake, different rivers
Balık Bendi, associated with the pearl mullet migration at Erciş, is on Deliçay. Muradiye Waterfall is on Bendimahi. They are separate places on different rivers, even though both belong to the wider Lake Van setting.
An outing beyond Erciş
Plan Muradiye as a separate excursion from a walk around central Erciş. Establish return transport and current road conditions beforehand, and use the existing viewing areas. Even during a short visit, looking at different parts of the flow can reveal several views within one landscape.
